Thank you, Sonic Youth
30 Years ago, I founded a band with a weird name – because I loved the music of Sonic Youth. Especially their song „Theresa’s Sound-world“ blowed my mind and represented the kind of music, I wanted to create by myself.
Now, I’m old enough to kneel down with a cover version. Thank you, Sonic Youth.

Old Song, remastered
When matthias‘ soundworld started in late 1990s, we recorded a lot of songs with a 4-track-taperecorder. The tapes are lost, the 4-track-recorder broken. This song about an astronaut was made at the end of the century. I found a version for the SU 700 I used later while cleaning up a wardrobe and found some time, to remaster the tracks.
New Song
I often pass a pond in the Clara Zetkin Park in Leipzig with a small island in the middle. Now there’s a song about this refuge.

New Song & New EP
I remembered fragments of a song, which I wrote in 2016 for a birthday show in the musicclub Ilses Erika in Leipzig. We performed it together, and after that the sounds disappeared in my archive. In Silberbar some of the fragments were put into a new context. Today I feel the music as a tribute to the very nice time I always had in Ilses Erika.
Silberbar is also the opening of the 3-track-EP „Yokohama“.

New EP
I’ve put the songs from the last two years together and released them as EP „Zschocher“.
