matthias‘ soundworld were formed in 1997 by Sandra Nicklisch (voc, keys), Mathias Becker (bass), and Matthias Puppe (voc, git, programming). The name of the band is a reference to a song by Sonic Youth. Later Renate Strümpel (sax) and Jeffrey Dunant (git) joined the band. Their music was a mix of indie rock and electronic beats.

In 1999 they were signed by Isoton records and released the Debut-EP „La Guerre A Lieu“. The following LP „Ride On Through The Darkness“ was recorded with Uwe Jahnke (Fehlfarben, S.Y.P.H) and released with help of Torpedo Leipzig. The band broke up in 2002.

Since then, Matthias Puppe has worked solely under this name with focus on electronic music. The LP „Zschocher“ was released in 2018, the EP „Yokohama“ in 2022.
